If you are lucky enough to have found your way to reading reviews for Candace, you are lucky indeed. I cannot recommend Candace as a piano teacher highly enough. After moving to the area a number of years ago and having difficulty finding the right teacher for both of our very different children, we happened upon Candace's studio. She is warm and kind but firm enough to provide the necessary critique and guidance to move students forward at their own pace. She follows each child and adapts her style and methods to meet their unique learning style and goals. Our son suffers from severe dyslexia but she continues to find ways to help him enjoy the piano. Our daughter is more ambitious and Candace helped her to prepare for an RCM exam which she passed with honors. She has helped each develop a love of music. During the pandemic, she seamlessly transitioned to online lessons and though we miss seeing her in person every week, it has been the one constant during this crazy time. Candace has our family's highest endorsement.

We have been learning piano with Candace for almost 5 years since my daughter was 6. She is an incredible piano teacher and a loving person that appreciates music from her heart and also has great technical skills for teaching. Her lessons are always fun, and my daughter often comes back home with stickers and happy moments to share with us. Candace Cleary is an excellent instructor, able to teach children and adults exceptionally well - not only to play the piano but also to appreciate and love the music. As an adult beginner, I was hesitant about taking proper piano lessons. However, from the first email exchange I had with Candace, I was put at ease. Via any type of communication, Candace is prompt, efficient, professional and kind. As any of you know who have dealt with tutors or teachers of any kind, this is truly important. But most critical, Candace's ability to teach and inspire - WOW. She is unerringly patient but firm and inspirational. Candace seems to have that intangible knack to understand how much a student can handle, how hard to push and why the student might be stuck on something - all the while encouraging and supporting. I have lived through 10 years of strict but wonderful instrument lessons with my child so I understand the rigor and challenges of learning music, but doing it as an adult is a whole different story. Humbling is the word I keep using. It takes a special teacher to be able to adapt to both children and adults and Candace does it beautifully. If you are considering piano lessons for your child, teenager or yourself, I can't recommend Candace enough.
